Abstract

It is true that the modern Chinese historiography was different from its counterpart in the ancient China; it was also true that the interconnection between the ancient and modern Chinese historiography was actually not broken. In the previous chapter, the present author points out that the far-sighted historians in the late feudal China had already shown growing discontent with the established history that was increasingly dogmatic and inflexible.
