Abstract

Fully covered self-expandable metal stents (FCSEMS) are used both in benign and malignant luminal diseases. The benefit of FCSEMS is that it is completely removable; however, stent migration is a major limitation to duration of therapy and poses risk for downstream obstruction or perforation. Endoscopic suturing with OverStitch (Apollo Endosurgery), and over-the-scope clips (OTSC) have been used to prevent migration. More recently, a dedicated OTSC device—stentfix (Ovesco)— has been developed for securing stents. Currently, there is very limited data on its use.
