Abstract
Studies have shown the infection rate to be 3-6% after spinal cord stimulator implantation (1). Superficial skin infection is typically treated by antibiotics only, whereas deep infection is treated by explanting the device followed by antibiotics (2). Pain management is challenging in such cases because only 25% of the patient undergo reimplantation of the device (3).
