Abstract

Increasing the oxygen concentration in breathing air of rabbits from 21 to 34% for 16 weeks, starting immediately after discontinuing 8 weeks of cholesterol feeding, significantly reduced the accumulation of cholesterol in inner aorta in comparison to controls breathing normal atmospheric air.
