Abstract

The hyperfine structure of the metastable 5d2D3/2 state has been measured with high precision by collinear laser-rf double resonance spectroscopy on fast135,137Ba ion beams. The present data are about 100 times more accurate than those obtained by classical fast beam laser spectroscopy.
