Abstract

A new two-dimensional compound C12H14O16Zn3 (1), containing seven-coordinate zinc atoms was prepared by the hydrothermal technique. The compound obtained was characterized by TG-DTA, single crystal X-ray diffraction, elemental analysis and FT-IR analysis. Single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis shows that compound 1 crystallizes with monoclinic symmetry in the space group P21/c, a = 6.1552(13) Å, b = 14.546(3) Å, c = 9.581 Å, β = 102.66(2)°, V = 836.9(4) Å3, Z = 2, R1 = 0.0311, wR2 = 0.0830.
