Abstract

In this paper, Mn0.5Cd0.5S/CNTs, a novel composite photocatalytic material, was successfully synthesized by a feasible hydrothermal method. The structure, morphology and photo-property of resulted samples were measured by XRD, SEM, TEM, XPS, PL, UV–vis DRS and photocurrent tests. The visible-light photocatalytic performance was tested via H2 production test. The results indicated that CNTs as electron acceptors could suppress the recombination of holes and charges over Mn0.5Cd0.5S/CNTs photocatalyst, improved H2 production performance of photocatalyst, furthermore, Mn0.5Cd0.5S/CNTs kept excellent steady. Finally, a possible reaction mechanism over Mn0.5Cd0.5S/CNTs was proposed.
