Abstract

Recent advances in the understanding of hydrogen in single-crystal silicon have introduced new perspectives for interpreting the role of hydrogen in a-Si:H. Properties of H that have been demonstrated in c-Si and which should be relevant in a-Si:H include the existence of dopant-H complexes, charge states of isolated migrating H, metastable diatomic hydrogen (H2*), and H-induced platelets.
