Abstract

It is shown that although Glauber’s time-dependent Ising model with a magnetic field cannot be solved in general, it can be solved in a hydrodynamic limit. This solution is useful for describing the relaxation kinetics of polymers, whose equilibrium properties are equivalent to a one-dimensional Ising model. The general properties of the hydrodynamic approach are discussed.
