Abstract
The triclinic unit cell of the title compound, N2H62+·2C8H3N2O8−·6H2O, contains one doubly protonated hydrazine cation which lies on an inversion centre, two symmetry-related singly deprotonated 3,5,6-tricarboxypyrazine-2-carboxylate anions and six solvent water molecules. In the crystal structure, a three-dimensional hydrogen-bonded network is constructed between the protonated carboxylate O atoms, protonated hydrazine cations and solvent water molecules.
