Abstract

HYBNET is a software package that supports advanced model supported process design and operation. HYBNET stands for HYBrid NETwork, since it is able to compose the process model in a modular way and allows to connect these modules in form of a network. In most applications the modules are formulated in different representations like neural networks, fuzzy rule-based models and classical differential equations. The nearly arbitrarily structured models can be identified in roughly the same way as the training of artificial neural networks, namely by means of error backpropagation schemes. The concept of the software is illustrated at the example of a baker’s yeast production process.
