How the Field of Fashion can use ChatGPT to Predict Fashion Trends
Fashion trend prediction is based on intuition, judgment, and creativity and requires a sensual and intuitive approach, but can also be based on a highly scientific analysis method that uses a systematic method. This study aims to develop prompts that can verify and improve the accuracy of fashion trend prediction technology by analysing generative data from open AI models that are currently widely used. To this end, we propose ChatGPT as a means of fashion trend prediction and a method to derive efficient and objective data through human-AI interaction. We identified the characteristics of ChatGPT in the field of fashion trend prediction, set prompt guidelines, and developed a top-down prompt (TDP) using Lotus Blossom. Additionally, we applied TDP to ChatGPT to predict men's fashion trends for fall/winter 2024 and validated it using data from real fashion trend companies.

This study was analyse fashion pictures of the text in ”GQ Taiwan” magazine. The methods of this study were (1) content analysis to induce the types of men's look and fashion trend, (2) contextual perspective to analysis the relationship between the fashion change of men's look and society in Taiwan. The objectives of this study were to explore the fashion change of men's look in ”GQ Taiwan” magazine from 1996 to 2005, to record and induce the types of men's look and fashion trends at this period, use contextual perspective to analyse the relationship between the fashion and society change, and to observe the route of men's fashion change.

Batik is an Indonesian cultural heritage that has been recognized by UNESCO, batik in Indonesia has diverse motives and in each region has unique and different characteristics. The batik technique was originally handmade batik which was processed using canting and wax, as well as the process of using human labor, because of that it has more value and high price. But as the times evolve, various batik techniques emerge which process is faster, by using mechanical power so that it can be sold at a cheap price, the technique is of various kinds, one of which is stamp batik. This modern batik technique makes it possible to make motifs that are more modern and most commonly found on the market. Therefore, batik also requires the development of motifs so that it can compete with other batik techniques, moreover handmade batik is an original technique that must be preserved. Batik in the past was quite in demand in the field of fashion, but with the rapid development of the world with the influence of technology and culture from outside which also influenced fashion trends. Because of that batik began to lag behind, because it was considered too formal, old-fashioned, so that young people are less interested. Therefore the development of batik needs to be done so that it can continue to compete with other fashion trends, and so batik is not forgotten because it is inferior to other developing trends. Therefore the research was conducted with interview techniques and surveys of experts and extreme users, and it is known that batik can develop through motifs and designs. And from the results of research on the target market can also be known colors and designs that are preferred. From these results obtained ideas to design batik with contemporary motif designs, as well as modern styles that follow fashion trends.

This study explored how ChatGPT, a natural language processing artificial intelligence (AI) technology, can be utilized in the complex, diverse, and creative field of fashion design. This study aimed to develop effective prompts that can enable designers to efficiently utilize OpenAI. The study also explored how ChatGPT can be used to improve the efficiency of seasonal trend analysis and seasonal collection design creation. First, the authors analyzed fashion trends and fashion collection data from x to September 2021 using ChatGPT-3.5 and ChatGPT-4. Based on the results, the authors predicted fashion design trends for 2024 fall/winter men's fashion and created a 2024 fall/winter men's fashion collection using DALL-E 3. Finally, the authors compared the results developed with OpenAI to fashion trend data provided by real-world trend companies to assess accuracy and verify objectivity.

Lifestyles have changed significantly since Corona 19, and the boundary between everyday clothes and outdoor wear has collapsed, especially among the MZ generation, who are most sensitive to trends. Practical fashion that combines the keywords of smart, sustainable, and new normal in the recession is positioned as the world's best outdoor brand, sports brand, and global fashion brand in line with the Gorpcore trend. The extensive scalability and impact of the Gorpcore style is increasing every day. However, the study of the Gorpcore style lacks precise criteria for it, and is a scarce reality due to its short history. With the increasing interest of people all over the world and the recognition of the importance of the Gorpcore style in the fashion field, research has become an urgent phenomenon. I would like to analyze and consider the Gorpcore style that has appeared in modern fashion, where there is no previous research on the Gorpcore and the standards are ambiguous, and to use it as efficient information for future research not only the exact standards but also fashion. Not only that, it is significant in that it is also used in the development of fashion designs. In addition, we expect that fashion trends that pursue practicality and functionality like the Gorpcore style and that reflect lifestyles centered on individual satisfaction will have an impact on future high fashion and fashion trends in various fields.

In the past fifty years, Japanese fashion as one of the most prosperous Asian fashions has become a legend in the world fashion field through its special oriental design that breaks the fashion aesthetics with the West as the mainstream in the past. In recent years, wabi-sabi style has become a new fashion trend. As sustainable fashion is advocated by more and more people, the ecological concept wabi-sabi aesthetic holds also accords with the eco-fashion tendency. This paper aims to study the wabi-sabi style in the fashion field, which includes its power to collide with the fashion world dominated by the West, and its ecological function. First of all, this paper compares the aesthetic, religious, and women's fashion history of the wabi-sabi style and the western style. Then, it investigates the fashion collision between the East and the West in terms of design concepts and analyzes the inspiration for the wabi-sabi fashion style. What is more, this paper also integrates the wabi-sabi style and eco-fashion to analyze its positive impact on the environment. Ultimately, this study suggests that although the wabi-sabi style has a minimal influence in the fashion field, it will have a promising future for its sustainability and the comfort it renders to the secular life. The result helps to promote the wabi-sabi style, making more people know about this style and think deeply about their attitude to their lives, and grabbing more attention to wabi-sabi fashion for its environmentally friendly function.

Fashion trend forecasting is of great research significance in providing useful suggestions for both fashion companies and fashion lovers. Although various studies have been devoted to tackling this challenging task, they only studied limited fashion elements with highly seasonal or simple patterns, which could hardly reveal the real complex fashion trends. Moreover, the mainstream solutions for this task are still statistical-based and solely focus on time-series data modeling, which limit the forecast accuracy. Towards insightful fashion trend forecasting, previous work <xref ref-type="bibr" rid="ref1" xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">[1]</xref> proposed to analyze more fine-grained fashion elements which can informatively reveal fashion trends. Specifically, it focused on detailed fashion element trend forecasting for specific user groups based on social media data. In addition, it proposed a neural network-based method, namely KERN, to address the problem of fashion trend modeling and forecasting. In this work, to extend the previous work <xref ref-type="bibr" rid="ref1" xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">[1]</xref> , we propose an improved model named Relation Enhanced Attention Recurrent (REAR) network. Compared to KERN, the REAR model leverages not only the relations among fashion elements, but also those among user groups, thus capturing more types of correlations among various fashion trends. To further improve the performance of long-range trend forecasting, the REAR method devises a sliding temporal attention mechanism, which is able to capture temporal patterns on future horizons better. Extensive experiments and more analysis have been conducted on the FIT <xref ref-type="bibr" rid="ref1" xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">[1]</xref> and GeoStyle <xref ref-type="bibr" rid="ref2" xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">[2]</xref> datasets to evaluate the performance of REAR. Experimental and analytical results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed REAR model in fashion trend forecasting, which also show the improvement of REAR compared to the KERN.

At this time the halal industry in Indonesia is becoming a public concern, especially in the field of fashion. The development of fashion trends cannot be separated from the existence of increasingly trendy technology, so business actors are trying to take advantage of these technological developments as a means of ideas and innovations to create products that are appropriate for their time in order to attract the attention of consumers and be able to compete in the market. With the development of syar'i fashion trends, resulting in the increase in sharia business, many designers continue to be innovative by bringing up many designs that are in demand by the public. This study aims to determine the trend of sharia fashion in the modern era in the city of Bandung, as well as find out how far the development of sharia fashion in the modern era. The research method used is qualitative with a descriptive analysis approach by collecting data sourced from previous research, obtained through Google scholar and dimensions. The results of this study show that the halal industry in the fashion sector has become a trend and has a very big opportunity to develop the halal fashion sector. However, behind the great opportunities there are challenges that must be faced including: Lack of halal awareness in Indonesian society, Lack of Public Understanding of the Concept of Halal in Fashion, not many fashion MSMEs that take care of halal certification, low awareness of the Indonesian people to compete.

As a traditional Chinese folk art, Yangliuqing Woodcut New Year (YWNY) paintings with unique artistic symbols and rich artistic values have formed varied artistic styles since century. The purpose of this study is to explore the innovative application of traditional folk art combined with other technologies in the field of fashion and art design. Through literature research and object investigation methods, this paper analyses the subject and artistic characteristics of YWNY paintings, classifies the paintings and creates an image bank. Using the image extraction technology, we extract the characteristic elements with cultural symbols and representative colours and construct the corresponding elements resource libraries. Based on the modern design aesthetic and clothing craft design means, YWNY paintings are flexibly applied to fashion design and other design fields. Fashion trends in combination with the elements in YWNY paintings create works that have regional characteristics, which achieve the creative transformation of Tianjin folk art in fashion clothing design.

Media can shape the way the people see themselves, as well as the identity of a particular group collectively. In western countries where most of the population is dominated by white people such as Europe and North America, black people are included in a minority group that is vulnerable to discrimination and racism. The lack of opportunity for them to show their existence in the media has further obscured their identities and women are no exception. Representation in the media is no longer interpreted as representing a particular group’s identity but is used as a tool to fulfill media marketing strategies. This research aims to find out the forms of representation of black women in England that are mainly featured on two covers of British Vogue issued in August 2018 and February 2022. This research shows that the representation of black women featured on the cover of British Vogue’s August 2018 has represented black African American women, while the cover of the February 2022 has shown black African women. Both covers did not only attract the audiences in the UK but international audiences, moreover these covers have also indicated racial issues and feminism in the field of fashion. In this study, fashion magazine covers did not only show changes in fashion trends, but also the shifts in the representation of women’s identity and beauty standards. Artificial intelligence (AI) is widely applied in various industries, and technological advancements have promoted the development of Human-AI Interaction (HAII). However, HAII has limitations in different industries such as varying levels of development, insufficient attention, and poor effectiveness. This paper adopts a systematic literature review method to review the relevant literature on HAII in healthcare sector, education sector, financial services, manufacturing industry, and retail sector. By extracting and analyzing the interactive characteristics of AI, the interactive features and conceptual models of AI in key industries have been summarized. By analyzing the commonalities and unique characteristics of different industries, examining the challenges faced by HAII, a universal framework has been summarized. The framework is a HAII interaction principle that can be applied to all industries, ensuring a human-centered interaction experience for users and promoting the advancement of AI interface design. The research results provide a reference for relevant personnel engaged in the AI industry, and provide a design reference for industries that want to provide a better HAII experience in the future.

It has been shown that the textile and clothing industry have a negative impact on both the environmental and socio-economic field. The current trend in fashion, called sustainable fashion, is part of a new concept of circular economy, in which textiles and clothing are kept in the highest quality throughout their life cycle and then put back into circulation. The aim of the paper is to focus and evaluate the current knowledge base in the field of sustainable fashion and to clarify the basic approaches and strategies of circular fashion. The article uses mainly the description and comparison of theoretical knowledge and synthesis of analytical data from consulting companies and research agencies.

Fashion trend forecasting is a crucial task for both academia and industry. Although some efforts have been devoted to tackling this challenging task, they only studied limited fashion elements with highly seasonal or simple patterns, which could hardly reveal the real fashion trends. Towards insightful fashion trend forecasting, this work focuses on investigating fine-grained fashion element trends for specific user groups. We first contribute a large-scale fashion trend dataset (FIT) collected from Instagram with extracted time series fashion element records and user information. Further-more, to effectively model the time series data of fashion elements with rather complex patterns, we propose a Knowledge EnhancedRecurrent Network model (KERN) which takes advantage of the capability of deep recurrent neural networks in modeling time-series data. Moreover, it leverages internal and external knowledge in fashion domain that affects the time-series patterns of fashion element trends. Such incorporation of domain knowledge further enhances the deep learning model in capturing the patterns of specific fashion elements and predicting the future trends. Extensive experiments demonstrate that the proposed KERN model can effectively capture the complicated patterns of objective fashion elements, therefore making preferable fashion trend forecast.
