How Islamic work-life balance mediates work-family conflict and enhances employee performance in religious-based workplaces
Work-family conflict often makes employees feel stressed and tired, which can reduce their performance at work. However, there is still a lack of studies on how Islamic work-life balance can help employees handle this problem, especially in hospitals where religious values are very important. In fact, most existing research focuses on general work-life balance, with very few studies exploring it from an Islamic perspective. This study aims to examine whether Islamic work-life balance (IWB) can mediate the negative effect of work-family conflict (WFC) on employee performance (EP). Data were collected from Islamic hospital staff and analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The results show that WFC has a strong negative effect on EP, while IWB has a positive effect on EP and can also weaken the negative effect of WFC on EP. This means that when employees have better Islamic work-life balance, they can manage work and family demands more calmly and still perform well. The more employees feel supported by Islamic work-life balance, the more they can focus on their work and achieve higher performance, even when facing strong work-family conflicts. These findings show that IWB is not only important for personal well-being but also helps improve overall organizational outcomes in religious-based workplaces.

This study examines the impact of work-family conflict on employee performance in Ghanaian universities, exploring mediating and moderating factors. Three mediating variables (affective commitment, family-related factors, and work-related factors) and one moderating variable (sex) were examined concerning the impact of work-family conflict on employee performance. A simple random sampling technique was used to select a sample of 310 respondents from the senior staff of the University of Cape Coast. The questionnaire was used to gather data, which was analysed using the Partial Least Squares-Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM). Key findings revealed that family-related and work-related factors fully mediate the work-family conflict-staff performance relationship. Hence, to ensure optimal employee performance, the University of Cape Coast should encourage workers to effectively balance their work-related and family-related factors. Additionally, the moderating role of sex in the work-family conflict-performance link indicates that work-family conflict affects female senior staff performance at the university than their male counterparts. This study highlights novel mechanisms (family-related factors, work-related factors, sex) through which work-family conflict impacts employee performance. The study recommends that organisations should adopt balanced approaches to reduce work-family conflict. This study contributes to understanding work-family conflict's impact on employee performance, emphasizing the need for balanced work-life approaches in Ghanaian universities. By addressing work-family conflict, organisations can promote optimal employee performance and gain a competitive advantage.

This study examines the impact of Employee Well-Being on Employee Performance and Quiet Quitting in the IT sector in India, focusing on the mediating role of Employee Performance and the moderating role of gender. Data from 282 IT employees in India is analysed, using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM). Results reveal that Employee Well-Being significantly enhances Employee Performance and reduces Quiet Quitting. Employee Performance does not mediate the Employee Well-Being and Quiet Quitting relationship, indicating that Employee WellBeing directly influences Quiet Quitting rather than through Employee Performance. Gender moderates the Employee Well-Being–Employee Performance link, with males benefiting more from Employee Well-Being improvements and being less likely to engage in Quiet Quitting. Gender does not significantly affect how Employee Well-Being or performance influences Quiet Quitting. These findings are helpful, but they mostly apply to IT employees in big cities. So, they may not fit all work settings. Future research could explore longitudinal effects, organisational culture, and technology-driven engagement strategies. Organisations should focus on mental health support, flexible work arrangements, and fostering a supportive workplace culture to sustain employee productivity. The study is grounded in JD-R Theory, which explains how job demands and resources affect well-being, performance, and Quiet Quitting. This study contributes to the literature by addressing gaps in understanding how Employee Well-Being, Employee Performance, and gender interact to influence Quiet Quitting in the IT sector in India

This study examines the relationships between work-family conflict and work-life balance with job satisfaction and employee performance, highlighting the mediating role of job satisfaction. The population of this study was 861 production department employees. Data analysis uses Descriptive Statistical Analysis and Inferential Analysis using the SEM (Structural Equation Modeling) method using Smarts PLS 3.0. The results indicate that work-family conflict significantly and negatively impacts both job satisfaction and employee performance. The stronger the work-family conflict, the lower the job satisfaction, and hence, the lower the performance. It also identifies emotional exhaustion, psychological stress, and role imbalance as negative outcomes of work-family conflict for male and female employees. On the other hand, work-life balance influences the employees' job satisfaction and performance positively. Whenever employees are able to balance between their work and personal life, they tend to portray a high level of job satisfaction and improvement in their performances. The results further denote that job satisfaction mediates in the relationship of work-family conflict and work-life balance with employee performance, but the direct influences of work-family conflict and work-life balance on performance are stronger than the indirect effects via job satisfaction. The study concludes that work-family conflict must be confronted head-on, and life-work balance policies must be implemented to realize high levels of job satisfaction and performance. These facts have useful implications for organizational management in the pursuit of a supportive and productive work environment.
