Abstract

The article deals with the problems of the development of the urban environment of the historical city, the problem of value in the historical environment of the city. An important component of the urban environment - cultural heritage - is analyzed. The key importance of preserving the historical space of the urban environment through an integrated approach in the formation of the environmental perception of the city as a single organism is noted. It also raises the question of the continuity of the cultural historical context in the renovation of historic urban areas. Some areas of preservation of urban values are identified. The distinctive features of the development and architectural and spatial environment of the city are considered. Historic buildings are city-forming objects, and their importance is practically not taken into account in new planning projects. Objects of cultural heritage, as well as capital buildings of other eras are artifacts of people's lives and the historical memory of the territory of transformations. The compositional value is represented by the landscape features of the territory, which are often leveled out in new projects. Ignoring the architectural and spatial continuity leads to the loss of the territory of its originality and cultural meanings.
