Abstract

The link between homelessness and drug and alcohol abuse has been well documented within the literature as substance abuse is noted as being a leading contributor to homelessness. However, the issue of homelessness and female drug and alcohol abuse has been relatively ignored. While a large number of all homeless individuals suffer from drug and alcohol addiction, substance abuse among women and girls places them at a heightened risk.
