Abstract

AbstractAn examination of North American and Siberian adults of Holarctias indicates that H. sentinaria (Geyer) occurs only in the Nearctic. It differs from the Siberian species, H. rufinaria (Staudinger), in colour pattern of the wings and in the shape of the cornutus of the male genitalia. Specimens named H. magnetaria (Guenée) in North American collections should be re-examined and most, if not all, placed in the genus Scopula Schrank.
