Abstract
We have proposed a process for the fabrication of high-refractory (up to 2000°C) ceramic monoxide corundum molds for investment casting using a silica-free binder. This approach is most effective in fabricating ceramic shell molds for complex-shape investment casting using highly alloyed steels, refractory metals, and high-temperature and titanium alloys.
