Abstract

Under mild reaction conditions, both cis- and trans-1,2-substituted alkenes are converted into the corresponding 1,2,3-trisubstituted cyclopropanes with high levels of diastereo- and enantioselectivity using diazoacetate (III) as carbene source and bisoxazolines (I) bearing C2-symmetry-breaking pendant groups as ligands in the title copper-catalyzed reaction.
