Abstract

Active Polymer Waveguides In article number 2209239, Hui Xu, Dan Zhang, and co-workers report high gains at 1.06 and 1.31 μm wavelengths in a novel complex Nd (TTA)3(XPO)-doped polymer waveguide with the excitation by light-emitting diodes (LEDs) instead of a semiconductor laser as the pump source. The importance of this work is to minimize the commercial cost of waveguide amplifiers in planar photonic integration.
