Abstract

A reactive routing algorithm for multi-rate ad hoc wireless networks is proposed. It enhances the AODV protocol and achieves higher throughput by utilising the multi-rate capability of the underlying wireless channel via the MAC delay routing metric. Simulations show that the protocol leads to a significant throughput increase over traditional ad hoc routing protocols.
