Abstract

Background and Aims: Increased plasma levels of sEng are observed in patients with cardiovascular and metabolic diseases including hypercholesterolemia, atherosclerosis, and type II diabetes mellitus, which affect liver functions and metabolism. Therefore, we hypothesized that high levels of sEng will affect cholesterol and bile acids (BA) turnover in liver.
