Abstract

In the electronic devices, aluminum electrolytic capacitors (AECs) have occupied the bulky volume. Using supercapacitors instead of the large AECs is expected to reduce size of electronic devices because they have more capacitance than AECs. However, the commercial supercapacitors with tortuous pore structure cannot be applied for AC line filtering because of their slow response at 120 Hz. In this study, we will present supercapacitors which have fast response, high voltage window and high areal capacitance using mesoporous carbon and organic electrolyte. From this, we proved that supercapacitors can replace with AECs up to 41 V.
