Abstract

Background: Evolution in computed tomography (CT) scanner technology has significantly advanced coronary CT angiography (CCTA). A dual-source CT combined with a high-pitch helical acquisition, also known as FLASH, now allows the heart to be scanned in a single heartbeat. Older CT scanners only allowed for low-pitch helical or sequential acquisition, which has longer scan times and higher radiation doses.
