Abstract

In order to clarify the structural properties of a novel ferromagnetic shape-memory alloy Ni 50Mn 36Sn 14 in magnetic fields, we have carried out high-field X-ray powder diffraction measurements under magnetic fields up to 5 T in the wide temperature range from 8 to 300 K. In this work, we confirmed that magnetic field induces the reverse martensitic transformation in Ni 50Mn 36Sn 14 at the vicinity of 220 K.
