Abstract
Beside the better supportive care the substantial improvement reached in the treatment of AML is due to the intensified chemotherapy. This approach can be used as conditioning in transplant setting, early in the postremission period (4), as a double induction (2) or upfront as proposed among others by James Bishop [1].
