Abstract

We present the results of a calculation on the influence of anomalous {gamma}{ital WW} and {gamma}{gamma}{ital WW} gauge-boson couplings on the decay of the Higgs boson into two photons. In the standard model this decay occurs via penguin diagrams with scalars, fermions, and {ital W} bosons within the loop. We show that if new physics comes in at the scale of 1 TeV, anomalous gauge couplings can lead to a large enhancement or suppression of the decay rate compared to the standard-model results depending on the parameter {lambda}{sub {gamma}} and {kappa}{sub {gamma}} in the {gamma}{ital WW} and {gamma}{gamma}{ital WW} coupling.
