Abstract
Multi Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) has been widely applied to strategic decision situations. In many situations, decision makers deal with MCDM problems with special structures within their alternatives. This paper focuses on the structure of alternatives and proposes a new problem-structuring approach based on hierarchical alternatives. An appropriate solution methodology based on fuzzy outranking is proposed and illustrative numerical examples are discussed.
