Abstract

A 58-year-old woman with a history of diabetes mellitus and hypertension presented to the Emergency Department (ED) with several weeks of right eye irritation, erythema, foreign-body sensation, and mild lid swelling. She gradually developed blurry vision and a watery discharge, which prompted her evaluation. She did not use corrective lenses and could not recall any trauma to the eye prior to symptom onset.
