Abstract

The article touches upon the Sverdlovsk period of the life of the playwright and writer Afanasy Dmitrievich Salynsky (late 1940s — early 1950s). Based on archival materials we established some facts of his biography, related to his studies at the Literary Institute and the creation of the first literary works. However the focus of the study is the Ural creativity of A. D. Salynsky: the essay “Georgy Falin”, the fairy tale “Petya’s Toys”, the plays “The Road of the First” and “The Dangerous Satellite” as well as the ideas of other plays and scenarios. The artistic features of the Ural works of the writer and playwright are considered, critical reviews are given on them, the type of the hero of the plays is revealed (an enthusiast, innovator, drummer of production), his Ural features are determined. In fact we traced the path of A. D. Salynsky from from being the editor of a regional book publishing house to becoming a famous Soviet playwright.
