Abstract
This comprehensive manual provides a meticulous review encompassing every aspect of cardiac transplantation in a well-organized and readable presentation. Combining his own experience in the development of a transplant program with the viewpoint of 24 other experienced contributors, Dr Myerowitz has left no stone unturned. The establishment and maintenance of a successful cardiac transplant program represent a major organizational challenge requiring the closely coordinated skills of a multidisciplined team. The list of contributors reflects expertise in anesthesia, epidemiology, immunology, pathology, tissue typing, nursing, rehabilitation, and social service as well as cardiology and cardiac surgery.
