Abstract

This article focuses specifically on health disparities among African American men. It offers insight into the historic and socioeconomic factors upon which their health care paradigms are based, and discusses the link between their perceptions and the gap in health disparities that they experience. The article reviews the literature on African American men's health and describes the importance of continual attention to this issue.
