Abstract
We present analytical calculations to demonstrate how the mechanical constraints of the winding process limit the harmonic content of a planar-wound toroidal deflection coil and how one can change the various harmonics beyond this limitation by adding auxiliary turns to the coil. The results would be useful in application of theoretical knowledge about harmonics to the design of magnetic deflection coils.
