Abstract

The ferromagnetic resonance fields of the quasi one-dimensional S = 1 ferromagnet [(CH 3 ) 3 NH]NiCl 3 · 2H 2 O have been measured at T = 1.25 K and for various frequencies in the range 18 GHz < ν < 75 GHz. From these measurements the values of the single-ion anisotropies have been determined. We obtained D / k = −3.7 K and E / k = 1.7 K. These values are in good agreement with the results reported from low-temperature susceptibility studies.
