Abstract

The PEP II storage rings and the BaBar detector are being commissioned at SLAC. The main goal of the experiment is the study of CP violation in B mesons decays. The expected luminosity of PEP II and high qualities of the BaBar detector will allow progress in many topics in hadronic Physics, among them lifetimes of B mesons, semileptonic and hadronic decays of B mesons, spectroscopy of mesons from light to heavy, including bottomonium, tests of perturbative QCD predictions for the production of meson or baryon pairs.
