Abstract
In this paper I would like to try and summarize some of the data generated from laboratory experimentation that seem to have direct relevance for the clinical exploration of interferons as useful anti-cancer agents and to comment specifically on three aspects: the use of animal models, data on what is, and is not, known of the mechanisms of action of interferons, and the interaction ofinterferons with drugs and with other biological response modifiers.
