Abstract

The reflected light and transmitted light from a slab doped with a three-level Λ-type atoms are theoretically investigated. The effect of the relative phase between coupling and probe fields on the group velocity of the transmitted light and reflected light has been discussed. We show that in the presence of a spontaneously generated coherence (SGC), the group velocity of the transmitted light and reflected light becomes phase dependent.
