Abstract
Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors are used in several applications where smooth regulation of speed is required. In low speed – high torque operations, there will be occurrence of torque ripples and that generates severe ripples in speed. The aim of this paper is to provide an overall view on high performance control for reducing the speed ripples at low speed operations by proposing a bioinspired optimizer called Grey Wolf Optimizer (GWO) in comparison with Particle Swarm Optimizer (PSO). This Grey Wolf optimizer will find the optimal input controls according to the requirements of speed tracking and the determination of optimal gains of proportional-integral controller for speed control is done by PSO claims that the drive got satisfactory improvement in its robust nature.
