Abstract

A semi-Newtonian treatment of the generation and detection of gravitational waves is presented. This is used to estimate the gravitational radiation from relativistic increases in pressure. The results are applied to various astrophysical processes, and the corresponding ed. It is concluded that observable events at the galactic center must have yields in excess of 1 M sub solar .
