Abstract

The author outlines a method for detecting change in mountain-basin geosystems based on identification of graphic images. The determination and interpretation of the quantitative indices of morphological elements of mountain basins makes it possible to define basic trends in the development of slope drainage basins. The potential of utilizing a basin approach to analysis of the resistance of various soil/ground materials to endogenous-exogenous processes is analyzed.
