Abstract

We described an extension of the adaptive finite element (FE) method to linear elastic micromorphic continua using goal-oriented error estimate. A novel patch-based recovery technique for enhanced solutions was developed. The adaptive approach was established on the basis of primal and adjoint consistency analysis, theoretically ensuring an optimal convergence order. We recently have noticed the following two minor errors. For an adjoint consistency analysis, the FE solution is replaced by the exact solution , such that the marked jump terms vanish. The obtained result for adjoint consistency of this paper remains valid.
