Abstract

The GMC plans to pilot an induction programme for overseas doctors and for UK medical graduates who are starting foundation year 1 to introduce them to the ethical and practical issues involved in medical practice in the UK. The induction programme, which will be piloted by the end of the year, will be free and voluntary. It is not intended to identify concerns in new doctors, and completion of the programme will not be a condition of licensing.
