Abstract

Although the chemical and physical properties of l -amino acids and d -amino acids are extremely similar, only l -amino acids seemed to have been selected from the origin of life on the primitive Earth. In their chemical evolutionary step, d -amino acids seemed to have been eliminated, and hence it has been considered that all superior living organisms are composed only of l -amino acids. Homochirality is a characteristic signature of life.
