Abstract

Purpose: To evaluate the incidence and risk factors of glaucoma following pediatric cataract surgery. Methods: Retrospective review at a university-based hospital identified 80 children (135 eyes) with congenital cataract. The children underwent standard limbal-approach cataract extraction, with or without intraocular lens implantation before the age of 16 years. Follow-up was at least 4 years. Children with associated ocular anomalies were excluded from the study. Age at surgery, duration of follow-up, aphakia versus pseudophakia, and postoperative complications were identified.
