Abstract

We have extracted the degree of isospin mixing in 32S at the excitation energy of 58 MeV by comparing measured and calculated high-energy γ-ray spectra from the statistical decay of the 32S and 31P compound nuclei formed in heavy-ion fusion reactions. We have found that the isospin mixing is small in agreement with theoretical predictions.
