Abstract

Abstract Very recently, foundation law in Germany has been extensively reformed. This article sheds light on some of the fundamental changes brought about by the reform. It takes a practitioner’s perspective and thus elucidates the key aspects to bear in mind when dealing with a German foundation (Stiftung)—whether as a third party, a (contractual) debtor or creditor or even as a beneficiary or potential founder.
