Abstract

Geometrical and chromatic aberrations of a specific off-axis holographic mirror are described. This element can be used as a combiner in an automotive head-up display. A major problem is to avoid or reduce aberrations that result from the shift between the wavelength of reconstruction and recording for a given off-axis reconstruction angle. Holographic recording with an aspheric wave created by a computer-generated hologram is presented as an example.
