Abstract

We propose a novel approach for generating Nyquist pulse sequences using a dual parallel Mach-Zehnder modulator (DPMZM) and a phase modulator (PM). The generated Nyquist pulse sequence achieves a repetition frequency of 10 GHz and a full width at half maximum (FWHM) of 4.22 ps. The time-domain waveforms of these sequences are retrieved using the phase and intensity from cross-correlation and spectrum only (PICASO) method. Further investigation into the autocorrelation traces reveals a pulse width conversion factor of approximately 0.75 between the Nyquist pulse sequences and their autocorrelation traces. Our work offers an alternative approach to generating and measuring Nyquist pulse sequences.
