Abstract

The generalized Veneziano model is applied to the following reactions dominated by pion exchange: π − p → π −π + n, π + p → π +π − N ∗++ , K −p → K − π +n and if K + p → K +π − N ∗++ in the lab momentum range from 5 to 16 GeV/ c. The dual amplitudes are “unitarized” (different total widths are given to resonances on parent and daughter trajectories). The pomeron exchange contribution is also included. Most of the experimental distributions are satisfactorily described by the model.
