Abstract

Based on the general formulation of the previous paper1 the effects of athermal nucleation involving spherical, isotropic clusters are discussed. The formulas describing absolute and relative athermal nucleation rates, concentration of athermal nuclei after rapid cooling, and time-lag change due to the presence of such nuclei are derived and analyzed. Some athermal nucleation characteristics for sodium disilicate are computed.
