Abstract
• We study forest PES disbursement in Argentina at the recipient level. • We analyze a unique dataset of all forest PES recipients in Argentina by type and gender and land size. • Gender mainstreaming and other policy interventions attempt to rectify past disparities by targeting women directly. • Women owners at small and medium levels of land holdings receive a premium over men at equal levels of land concentration. • Study results compare to other policy interventions in Argentina and in natural resource management that target women.
